Itinerary

Tivat to Kotor

Welcome aboard!

Ain’t no time wasting here – after check-in we set sail for our first swim stop of the cruise in a nearby bay. Dip into the crystal waters and get to know your shipmates (… or the bartender) over a drink at our onboard bar!

As the cruise continues onto our port for the evening, watch as the medieval town of Kotor comes into view – the vast mountains of the Dinaric Alps looming behind it.

When the sun sets, this ancient town is a buzzing trove of nightlife and the perfect spot to spend our first night together. Head to a cool jazz bar for some tunes or a cocktail bar and nightclub for a wilder evening.

Check-in: 2pm – 3pm

In Tivat, there are two possible docking locations:

Meals: welcome dinner

Overnight: Kotor

Kotor to Herceg Novi

It’s a gentle start to the day with breakfast and then a short cruise to Our Lady of the Rocks. Local legend says this tiny islet was created over the centuries from passing sailors placing rocks in the bay! Either choose to stay on board and view the islet from afar or explore the church and museum on land.

After, we head to the old sailor’s town of Perast, steeped in history and abandoned captain’s palaces. Here, we’ll grab an ice cream and wander the cobblestone streets to a viewpoint of the bay.

Next, it’s swim time! Our Captain will find us the perfect place to dock so you can soak up the turquoise waters and enjoy an onboard lunch.

We then continue onto Herceg Novi (aka The City of the Sun) where the rest of the day is yours to spend however you’d like! But first… why not join an on board wine tasting straight from a family-owned winery? Then check out one of Herceg Novi’s three fortresses, take a walk through the Old Town or hole up at one of the many restaurants and bars.

Meals: breakfast, lunch

Optional activities: Our Lady of the Rocks, Onboard Wine Tasting

Overnight: Herceg Novi

Herceg Novi to Tivat

Today’s vibe = nature’s magic

After breakfast, we leave Herceg Novi behind and sail along the Lustica Peninsula where we’ll drop anchor for a morning swim. Here, you have the option to stay and take in the peninsula’s beauty or join a small boat tour and swim stop in the enchanting Blue Cave. This secluded sea cave is known for its stunning light display and tranquil atmosphere. Trust us… it’s a sight you don’t want to miss.

If you’re after more adventure, don’t worry… it’s coming. Once everyone is back on board, lunch is served as we make our way back to Tivat through the mesmerising entrance to Boka Bay – Europe’s southernmost fjord. Unlike the fjords of Scandinavia, Boka Bay was created by rising sea levels, which drowned the ancient valley that now lies in its depths.

In Tivat, you can race across the mountains on an optional Alpine Coaster activity or, for a more relaxed afternoon, explore the town before we head out to experience Tivat’s array of restaurants, bars and clubs for our final evening together.

Meals: breakfast, lunch

Optional activities: Blue Cave Boat Tour, Gondola and Alpine Coaster

Overnight: Tivat

If ‘see you next time’ is more your thing, why not meet us in Croatia for your next Go Sail Adventure?

Hands down one of the best experiences of my life!
I don’t think there’s a better way to see Montenegro than with GoSail Montenegro. From the moment you step on the boat, you’re surrounded by beauty, hospitality, and a sense of adventure that’s hard to put into words. The crew treats you like family, the captain pours his heart into sharing the country’s wines and stories, and the food — fresh, local, and prepared on board — is out of this world. Add to that the laughter and friendships made with fellow passengers, and it truly becomes more than just a tour. It feels like a once-in-a-lifetime gathering on the Adriatic. Sailing through the Bay of Kotor and stopping in stunning towns along the coast felt magical — every view was postcard perfect. Between the crystal waters, the music, the energy on board, and the warmth of the people, I can honestly say this has been one of the greatest vacations I’ve ever taken. GoSail Montenegro is 100% worth the trip to get here. If you’re thinking about booking, stop thinking and do it — there is no better way to experience the beauty, culture, and spirit of this country.

Highly recommend
I had the best time on Sail Montenegro with my group of friends! Tass and the staff were amazing accommodating our group going above and beyond sorting taxis to the airport and making sure we were well looked after on the boat. Lots of gorgeous swim spots and enjoyed the cable car excursion to watch the sunset.

Everyone needs to do it!!
I had an unforgettable experience on this trip, and a huge part of that was Tass and the incredible crew. I arrived on the boat with a pretty bad head cold, and from the moment I stepped onboard, the crew went above and beyond to look after me. They were constantly checking in, making me hot honey and lemon tea without me even having to ask, and genuinely making sure I was okay. Their kindness and care meant so much and definitely didn’t go unnoticed. The atmosphere onboard was amazing, the crew were friendly, attentive, professional, and made everyone feel welcome. I arrived feeling pretty miserable but left feeling healthy again, with memories I’ll never forget. I genuinely can’t wait to sail with this company again. Thank you, Tass and the whole crew, for such an incredible experience!

Had the most incredible time on Sail Montenegro!!
Tass and the staff were incredible, and took amazing care of us over the 4 days. It was the perfect way to see the area, hopping around different swimming spots, towns and sites. Would highly recommend this experience - 10/10.

This was my first time travelling with Go Sail and ...
It is one of the best trips I have had in Europe. We booked the entire boat privately for a large group of us and had an amazing experience. Montenegro is a beautiful country and the sail trip was a wonderful way to explore its coastal towns. Tass our tour guide was delightful, attentive and looked after us all very well. She gelled with everyone in our party, and became the 23rd member of our group! The boat was great and had a kind and supportive crew consisting of Captain Pavle, Darling, Stefan and Ivan. They even put up with our dress up 80's night on the boat! I would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks to Tass and the crew for an amazing 4 days sailing in Montenegro.

Kiwis' fun group trip!
We booked through Go Sail Montenegro for a group of 22 late 20s/early 30s kiwis in August 2026. It was SUCH a fun trip, with a well-paced and thought through itinerary which allowed us to see the real highlights of Montenegrin coastline. Tass is a beautiful human being who also makes a stellar guide, and always brought the vibes. The crew was lovely and always tried really hard to accommodate all our needs. If you’re looking for a group trip that is an alternative to Sail Croatia or Turkey (although having done all three I would say Montenegro is the most beautiful), would DEFINITELY recommend. Also, I found the Go Sail admin team always really easy and helpful to communicate with, and very quick to respond to any queries - especially Rosie who was always lovely to deal with.

I literally had zero complaints the entire trip.
Have such an amazing time on gosail Montenegro! The staff and the group were so great and very friendly. Could not recommend enough. Perfect combo of fun and relaxing!

Such an unforgettable trip!
Such an unforgettable trip!! Everything about the cruise was incredible- I particularly loved all of the swim spots and exploring Herceg Novi. All of the crew were so welcoming and accomodating- especially Tassia who was so incredibly lovely and fun, she not only helped us and gave us so many wonderful facts about the island but began to feel like a friend throughout the trip. Amazing wonderful trip I’ll never forget!

One of the best experiences of my life!
GoSail Montenegro is truly unforgettable. From the moment I stepped on board, everything exceeded expectations — the boat was beautiful, the crew welcoming, and the atmosphere electric. We sailed through the breathtaking Bay of Kotor, stopping in stunning coastal towns, and enjoyed some of the most incredible food prepared right on the boat. The highlight was a wine tasting hosted by the captain himself, sharing wines from his very own winery — such a unique and personal touch that made the day even more special. What stood out most was the sense of community. Between the warmth of the crew and the friendships formed with fellow passengers, it felt less like a tour and more like being part of a family. Hands down, this is one of the greatest vacations I’ve ever taken. GoSail Montenegro is 100% worth the trip — there is no better way to experience the beauty, culture, and soul of this country.

4-day Tivat Return
START (check-in): 2-3 pm
FINISH (check-out): 10 am

Instructions on how to find your boat are in your pre-departure guide. We email this to you 3-4 weeks prior to departure.

Tivat
Anywhere around Tivat’s town centre and waterfront promenade is ideal for pre- or post-cruise accommodation. It’s walkable to the marina where your boat is docked, close to the bus station, and only about 10 minutes by taxi from Tivat Airport.

Kotor
For more charm and history, stay in or around Kotor Old Town, a UNESCO-listed walled town on the Bay of Kotor. It’s about 20 to 25 minutes from Tivat by taxi or bus, so allow extra time to reach the boat on your first day, and to get back to Kotor after disembarking on your last.

Tivat
If you are arriving at Tivat Airport (TIV), the most direct way to get from the airport to the port is by taxi or pre-booked private transfer. The journey is straightforward and takes around 20 minutes, depending on traffic.

Note: It is highly recommended to agree on the price with the driver before entering the taxi to ensure a clear, fixed fare for your journey.

Air. Rail. Bus. Ferry.

Your options are limitless (not really, but you know what we mean). Check your options here.

It all depends on just how late you are! If you miss check-in, it shouldn’t be too hard to catch up. But if you’re a day late, you’ll need to discuss options with our Operations team.
